Canadian parliamentarians visit Taiwan to promote ties

A group of Canadian parliamentarians have arrived in Taiwan to learn more about developing bilateral ties, which Taiwan hopes will help to advance relations between the two countries.

The delegation is led by Nina Grewal from the House of Commons and Michael L. MacDonald from the Senate, and includes parliamentarians Ryan Cleary, Annick Papillon, John Barlow, and David Yurdiga. During the visit from January 17-23, the Canadian parliamentarians will learn more about the development of Taiwan’s economy, politics, and its relations with China.
