France Legion of Honour Award for Veterans

French Legion of Honours Medals

French Legion of Honour Medals

Our Veterans selflessly fought and sacrificed so that we may enjoy the peace and freedoms that we do today. It is our duty to remember and honour their sacrifices, made on our behalf and behalf of future generations.

Now is the time to show your support for our Veterans.

At the request of the Government of Canada, the Government of France has extended the deadline for Canadian Veterans, who helped liberate France during the Second World War, to receive the French Legion of Honour until July 10th, 2015.

The Legion of Honour is the highest decoration that France can bestow.

Once this July 10th deadline passes, it will not be re-extended.

If you know a living Canadian Veteran of the Second World War who was in France during the landings in Provence and on D-Day during the Battle of Normandy, please call Veterans Affairs Canada at 1-866-522-2122; or email: information@vac-acc.gc.ca to receive instructions on how to help.

It is our goal to ensure that we recognize every Veteran who may be eligible for this award.

Lest We Forget.
