It is an honour and privilege to be appointed by Opposition Leader Erin O’Toole to sit as a member of the Standing Committee on Health.
As Canada enters the second wave of the COVID pandemic the work we do on the Health committee will be as important as ever. Many aspects of our economy and people’s lives are being affected by decisions made by the federal government, especially at Health Canada.
We’ve already seen the toll the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the health and wellbeing of all Canadians when decisions and response times are slow and when health guidelines are conflicting, ever-changing and hard to understand.
I want to thank the previous members of the Health Committee and acknowledge their hard work during the last session of Parliament, and I look forward to the work we will do this session.
